Create Tenant Network

As a self-service user, you may create only tenant networks. Network type is tenant network, by default, when a self-service user creates a network.

You can choose networks with subnets or create subnets for the tenant network while creating a tenant network.

You must be a self-service user or an administrator to perform this operation.

To create a tenant network, follow the steps given below.

  1. Log in to Clarity.
  2. Click Networks in the left panel.
  3. Click the Networks tab.
  4. Click Create New Network seen on the top right corner. Create New Tenant Network
  5. Enter Network name.
  6. Deselect Apply Port Security Group check box to disable port security. This is an optional step. Refer to the Disabling Port Security article on the support site for details on disabling port security.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Enter the following details if you want to create a subnet. This is an optional step. You could select an existing subnet instead of creating a new subnet.

    Field Description
    Subnet name Name of subnet
Network Address (CIDR) Network address of the subnet
IP version Version of IP protocol selected. Currently only IPv4 is supported, hence IPv4 is the default value.
Gateway IP IP address through which devices outside the network can be accessed
  9. Click Disable Gateway if you want to keep the subnet private.
  10. Click Next.
  11. Select the enable DHCP text box if you wish to enable DHCP addressing.
  12. Enter the allocation pools from which new IP addresses can be allocated. Enter the allocation pool in the following format <start IP address>-<end IP address> (for example, 192.0.2.10 - 192.0.2.254).
  13. Enter DNS name server addresses, if applicable.
  14. Enter the host and subnet routes in the format destination_CIDR, next hop (for example, 192.0.2.0/24, 198.51.100.5). If there are multiple route entries, enter each entry on a new line.
  15. Click Next.
  16. Review the configuration details, and then click Create if all details have been correctly entered.

A network is created with the specifications mentioned in the network configuration.
