# Port

Ports are the virtual communication endpoints which attach a device such as a router or a virtual machine, and enable communication across the network.

A port can be associated with a router, a subnet, a virtual machine, or a DHCP server.

space.vars.product\_name
automatically creates ports when new networks are created. But you can also create ports manually using the networking menu.
