About Kubernetes Clusters

A Kubernetes cluster comprises one or more master nodes and one or more worker nodes.

A Master node performs cluster management function, whereas application workloads are run on worker nodes. It is recommended to run applications or services, that is, workloads on worker nodes only.

A multi-master cluster facilitates high availability.

You can create single-master clusters and multi-master clusters with Platform9 Managed Kubernetes.

With Platform9 Managed Kubernetes, you can create a Kubernetes cluster

  • on a cloud provider like AWS or Platform9 Managed OpenStack or VMware deployment on Platform9 Managed OpenStack
  • on bare metal
