# Suspend Instance

You can suspend an instance that is running. Once you suspend the instance, it is in a sleep mode and can resume the instance to make it available for use.

You can suspend an instance when you are temporarily not using it and do not wish to reboot the instance when you want to resume operation.

You must be a self-service user or an administrator to perform this operation.

To suspend an instance, follow the steps given below.

1\. Log in to Clarity.

2\. Click Instances in the left panel.

3\. Select the checkbox for the instance that you want to suspend.

4\. Click Power on the toolbar seen above the list of instances.
