# Create Service

A service is an API object that describes the way to access applications, ports, and load balancers. Information about each service can be found by clicking on the links contained on the name of the service. These include the Name of the pod, Links element, and the Containers fields.

### Add a Service

You must be an administrator to perform this operation.

1. Navigate to Workloads > Services tab > then click on the *Create New Service* button.
2. Select Resource Type as service.
3. Select the Cluster with which the Service is to be associated.
4. Select the Namespace with which the Service is to be associated.
5. Input the resource YAML, or click Example Service Template and modify the template to suit your need.
6. Click Create Resource.

The service is created successfully. A sample service template is available to create a resource YAML for a service.
