# Deauthorize Node

Nodes that have been added to Platform9 by installing the HostAgent or manually [Deauthorized](https://github.com/platform9/pcd-docs-gitbook/blob/main/kubernetes/deauthorize-node/README.md) must be authorized to Platform9 prior to being used to build or scale a cluster..

### Authorize a Node

Follow the steps given below to authorize a node.

1. Navigate to Infrastructure Nodes Tab.
2. Change the State filter in the table action bar to unauthorized
3. Select the node and click Authorize from the table action bar.

Once the node is authorized you can attach it to an existing Kubernetes cluster or use it to build a new one.
