Advanced Networking Terminology

Luigi is an operator that helps with advanced networking specifically meant to enable running CNFs (Container Networking Functions). This is useful for certain networking applications like running 5G, 5G Core, 5G RAN, and IMS.

Luigi operator:

  • simplifies the configuration of advanced technology stacks such as SR-IOV, DPDK, Multus, Device Plugins, IPVLAN, MacVlan

  • performs feature detection through "NFD"
